After competing in three individual CrossFit Games, Tennil Beuerlein and Mekenzie Riley both announced their retirement to start a family, Beuerlein after the 2018 Games and Riley after the 2019 season.

Since then, both women have had babies – Beuerlein is currently pregnant with her second – and have reduced their training volume to a fraction of what it was during their competitive days.

For Beuerlein, that meant training only one hour a day, five days a week, “just doing the group class and whatever was written on the board,” she said, a big difference between s ” train several hours a day and follow a highly individualized program. training program as she did when training for the Games.
