Preview, Indian athletes, everything you need to know
Just 6 months after the end of the Tokyo Olympics, we are ready to welcome another sporting spectacle to the world. The event which takes place every 4 years takes place in countries where temperatures are considerably low and natural ice and snow levels are stable.
China is expected to host the event this year, with Beijing hosting the athletes as the host city. We are looking at all the details of the event including the Indian athletes taking part.
The Winter Olympics officially begin on February 4 and will run until February 20. The 2022 Winter Olympics are expected to include a record 109 events across 15 disciplines across seven sports that will feature approximately 2,600+ athletes. The list of sports and disciplines includes

As things stand, Arif Khan is the only Indian to have qualified for the Winter Olympics. He became the first Indian to qualify for two events at the Winter Olympics last month when he qualified back-to-back for the alpine skiing slalom and giant slalom.
There are no more open quotas or qualifying rounds for other Indian athletes. There may be other invitation slots extended to Indians however…
