HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) – WSAV News 3’s Tina Tyus-Shaw thanked a group of high school athletes for supporting the fight against breast cancer.

Tina spent Saturday morning at the Bradwell Institute in Hinesville with these awesome teens for a rosy conversation. Survivor Victoria Allen shared her journey in the fight against the disease.

Anita White, who is also a survivor and mammography technician at Liberty Regional Medical Center, taught a lesson on how to do breast self-exams.

The girls were eager to learn how to protect the health of their breasts.

“I really think learning Ms. Allen’s story and being able to hear where she’s coming from, I think that was very important and very inspiring to hear,” said Bailey Gilmore, high school student-athlete. . “I also think that being able to bring young girls together and being able to take care of their bodies and take precautions is very important. “

The girls also enjoyed a Zumba fitness dance moment with instructor Lenesha Cunningham. Each girl received a sports bra, breast health literature and a Buddy Check 3 bag.
