Muhammad Mokaev wants to break Jon Jones’ record by becoming the youngest champion in UFC history
Remember the name of Muhammad Mokaev.
The Dagestan-born Mancunian plans to ‘crush’ everyone in his quest to replace Jon Jones as the youngest champion of cfu story – starting with Cody Durden.
Mokaev, 21, will make his Octagon debut in London on March 19.
His next opponent caused outrage after his victory over Aori Qileng at UFC Fight Night 198 in November.
In his post-fight interview, Durden told of Aori to the ESPN commentator Daniel Cormier“I knew he was going to be tough, but I had to send him back to China where he came from.”
The American was later criticized on social media, with many accusing him of Sinophobia.
And Mokaev, who is a former IMMAF World Champion, was the first to raise his hand to fight him.
In one GIVEMESPORT exclusive, he said, “I asked for this fight. People want to see this fight. People want to see Cody Durden get run over.
“The UFC is a business, so they know what people want to see, and if people want to see me smash Cody, I’ll smash Cody.
“I will prove that young guys are always hungrier and more driven than older guys.
“Listen, I’ve done more in this sport than him in less time, and I’m going to show why I’m hungrier.”
Fighting for Team KHK MMA in Bahrain, Mokaev will debut on the same card as Jake Hadley, another highly touted flyweight prospect.
With the pair signed to Paradigm Sports Management, the same talent agency that represents Israel Adesanya, Cris Cyborg and Conor McGregor, a matchup seems inevitable.
When asked if he would consider a fight with Hadley, he replied, “If he keeps winning, why not? If he’s got anything personal, I live an hour’s drive from Birmingham, so come see me man.
“It’s not like he lives in America and I live in Russia.
“Listen, come see me, it’s not like I’m hiding. Every morning and every evening I am at the gym. Send me the location.
“He’s using my name to get attention because right now he has an opponent, I have an opponent. That’s it. Shut up man.
What if they ran into each other backstage?
“I met him before at SBG Manchester. I remember him putting his head down and walking past. It won’t make a big difference.
“He said in an interview that I’m going to throw him a chair or something.
” Why are you doing this ? I’m not throwing a chair at anyone. I have two hands. Come see me.”
UFC Fight Night 204 takes place on March 19. The early preliminaries will be shown live on UFC Fight Pass, while the preliminary card and main card will be shown live on BT Sport.
