CITY OF LAOAG – The municipal government is urging residents to register online for a reminder as soon as possible.

In a public announcement on Tuesday on Mayor Michael Keon’s official Facebook page, he said the online registration of the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) recall is open only to residents of Laoag.

To date, the Laoag City Vaccination Operations Center (OpCen) has reported that only Sinovac and AstraZeneca are available for booster injections.

“Those who are ready to get vaccinated with said vaccines will have priority for scheduling,” the FB post said.

However, applicants with other booster vaccine preferences can still proceed with registration, but will be scheduled when the preferred brand becomes available.

Once registration is complete, applicants are advised to wait for a call or text from the OpCen for the reminder schedule.

As of January 4, the city’s Covid-19 case bulletin showed 11 active cases of zero active infection on December 30.

The latest data from the Region 1 Ministry of Health showed that more than 5.6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines have already been administered in Ilocos, with some 64,444 residents having received their booster or third dose.

In Ilocos Norte, the provincial government said 86 percent of the 431,801 target population for mass protection had been fully immunized while 106 percent of the target had received their first dose. (ANP)
