Husker SWA Logsdon ends long career in Nebraska

Nebraska Assistant Athletic Director – Senior Female Administrator Pat Logsdon will put the finishing touches on a career spanning more than four decades in college athletics later this summer, when she officially retires on August 2.

Logsdon, who has served in various roles during her 42-year career as a Husker, has served as Nebraska’s Senior Administrator since 2008. She serves as a liaison between Nebraska Athletics and the NCAA and Big Ten Conference, while also representing the Huskers. . member of the Big Ten Sports management committee.

“It has been an honor to serve the Nebraska Athletic Department and spend my entire track and field career at a school that I love,” said Logsdon. “Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with so many talented and dedicated professionals and develop great friendships and lasting relationships. I have also been fortunate to work with some great coaches and excellent student-athletes who have achieved championship level in their sport and in the classroom. “

Logsdon, whose current role includes the department’s gender equity and diversity and inclusion plans, began her career with Nebraska Athletics in 1979. She worked directly with the Nebraska football program for 23 seasons. In 1997, Hall of Fame coach Tom Osborne selected her as Nebraska’s director of football operations, making Logsdon the first Division I woman to hold the position.

As Director of Football Operations, Logsdon managed the organization of all recruiting functions, oversaw compliance activities and coordinated all administrative football operations, including travel and training operations.

In 2003, Logsdon moved to an expanded role through Nebraska Athletics, as associate athletic director for administration. She retained this role until 2008.

Nebraska’s senior administrator in the Nebraska Life Skills region, Logsdon coordinates student-athlete surveys and exit interviews. She is also the athletic administrator of women’s basketball, men’s and women’s gymnastics, and the Nebraska National Championship Perpetual Volleyball program.
