Gillispie adds ex-Hutchinson star Isaiah Bujdoso

STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton Men’s Basketball Head Coach Billy Gillispie announced the signing of former Hutchinson College goaltender Isaiah Bujdoso in the Texas roster for the 2021-22 season.

Bujdoso, a 6’4,190 guard from Ontario, Canada, joins the Texans after spending his second season at Hutchinson and freshman at Loyola-Chicago University.

“I am extremely excited to play Tarleton because I know the community is supporting the team and the energy behind the program is growing,” said Bujdoso. “Having the opportunity to play for Coach Gillispie will be great as he has won at the highest level of college basketball and has developed many professional players. I look forward to getting on the pitch with my team and get a lot of wins this season! “

Bujdoso was a staple of the Hutchinson roster last season, appearing in 25 games for the Blue Dragons and averaging 8.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 31 minutes per game. Bujdoso shot 47% from the ground, 43.6% in 3 points and 73.3% in free throws. He’s posted 11 double-digit games and had at least five assists in 12 games.

Prior to Hutchinson, Bujdoso played for Loyola Chicago and helped the Ramblers win 20 games and qualify for the NIT in 2018-19. Bujdoso has appeared in 30 games with three starts and averaged 13.2 minutes per game while knocking out 44.4% of his shots as a true rookie. He’s had two double-digit games, including a career-high 12 points against Ball State.

Bujdoso played his last two seasons of high school basketball at Sunrise Christian Academy, a powerful preparation program in Bel Aire, Kansas. During the 2017-18 campaign, Bujdoso had nine points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals per game at the point guard and helped Sunrise Christian to three straight wins over the nation’s top five – Findlay Prep, St. Benedict’s Prep and Oak Hill Academy. In 2016-17, Bujdoso racked up 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals per game.

Prior to enrolling in Sunrise Christian Academy, Bujdoso was a two-time team MVP at MacNab High School in his native Canada, where he helped the team win three city championships and three league titles. the Southern Ontario Secondary School Association (SOSSA). Bujdoso competed on the Nike EYBL Tour with UPLAY Canada, averaging eight points, three draws, three assists and two steals per outing, while playing with current New York Knick RJ Barrett.

Bujdoso was a three-star 247Sports rookie coming out of high school with offerings from Wichita State, St. Bonaventure, and East Carolina. Bujdoso plans to major in Communication Studies or Sports Management at Tarleton.
