Nellore:

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today raided several locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the alleged involvement of some members of the Indian Popular Front (PFI) in “anti -nationals”.

The raids were carried out at premises linked to the accused and suspects in Kurnool, Nellore and Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh and Nizamabad in Telangana.

Last month, a case was filed by the NIA in Hyderabad against 27 people for conspiring to “wage war against the central government”.

The First Information Report or FIR was filed against Abdul Khader and 26 others for carrying out “anti-national activities” at the Khaders’ home at Auto Nagar in Nizamabad.

Sources claim that Abdul Khader admitted that he built an additional part on the roof of his house to be used by PFI members for their meetings and trainings instead of Rs six lakh.

“To prosecute the criminal plot, they recruited the members of the People’s Front of India (PFI), organized camps to provide training in the commission of terrorist acts. They formed an unlawful assembly and promoted enmity between different groups on the basis of religion and have been involved in activities disturbing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India,” FIR states.

“PFI members started coaching and physical exercises for young people in the name of karate classes and taunted them against a particular community with their hated speeches etc.,” FIR adds.
