AC Milan a potential destination for failed Chelsea star to resurrect his career
Timo Werner could be an underdog for AC Milan this summer to bolster his position as a striker, with the Germany international likely to leave London at the end of the season.
The Chelsea striker has already asked the London club’s sporting management to facilitate his departure next June according to Todofichajes and so Milan have joined the party.
At first it looked like the 26-year-old’s destination would be between Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund, but interest from the German club has cooled in recent weeks.
The Chelsea striker spent his entire career in Germany before joining Chelsea and was a big hit at RB Leipzig, where his 78 goals in 127 games brought him to the attention of clubs such as his current club.
This decision however did not work and conversations with the Blues have already taken place, although they have agreed to resume negotiations at the end of the season and hope that in a few months the situation of the club will be more stable following the penalties. over Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and the sale of the club is yet to be settled.
Werner has featured 50 times for Chelsea since joining in the summer of 2020 and has scored just seven goals since. The German striker was an elite goalscorer in the Bundesliga but for some reason that didn’t work out in London. The 26-year-old has had some good times but it still falls short of expectations.
This summer appears to be the end of that failed expedition and the Germany international could travel to Italy in an attempt to reunite with his old self.
